The Apache HttpComponents project is responsible for creating and maintaining a toolset of low level Java components focused on HTTP and associated protocols.
Status
Overall the project remains active.
Releases
HttpCore 4.2.4 GA was released on the 25th of March 2013
HttpCore 4.3-beta1 was released on the 25th of March 2013
HttpClient 4.2.4 GA was released on the 12th of April 2013
HttpClient 4.3-beta1 was released on the 12th of April 2013
HttpClient 4.2.5 GA was released on the 24th of April 2013
Community
The community remains small but active, but has good user interaction on the mailing lists as well as contributions rolling in
HttpCore 4.3, HttpClient 4.3 and HttpAsyncClient 4.0 are moving toward a GA release and presently being optimized for performance
