Validator Regular Expression I18 FAQ

Is it possible to use special characters (like german "Umlaute") in an regular expression..

I tried this:

    <constant>
      <constant-name>name</constant-name>
      <constant-value>^[\-\'\`\´\.\ a-zäöüßáéíúóàèìùòâêîôûñA-ZÄÖÜÁÉÍÓÚÀÈÌÒÙÑ]+$</constant-value>
    </constant>
