Welcome to the Apache Wiki

A Wiki is a website which is editable over the web by the users of that website. This allows information to be more rapidly updated than traditional websites. Many Apache projects make active use of wikis. This Wiki is one of several Wiki installations in use at Apache. Links to all of them are below. See admin notes at the bottom.

Caching

This wiki is fronted by mod_cache in order to improve performance. This means that anonymous users may see content that is up to six hours old. To see the most recent content, simply create an account and login. Authenticated users always bypass the cache.

Project Wikis

Rather than host all the Wiki content in a single installation, we have per-project Wikis (though they are all served from the http://wiki.apache.org site). You must log in separately to each distinct Wiki you wish to edit.
