Max OSX Issues

Performance

For some reason, the Mac webDAV client likes to make a lot of seemingly needless requests. It also makes requests for non-existent xml files. As an alternative, have your users download and use the [WWW] Goliath client.

PUT (resolved)

The built-in Mac OSX Finder client cannot PUT files into the Slide WebDAV server.

Temporary work around - download and use the [WWW] Goliath client.

Update 11/10/2004 The latest in CVS should fix this problem. For more information on accessing Slide from CVS, check [WWW] http://jakarta.apache.org/site/cvsindex.html

For what it's worth, I've found in my environment that mounting the Slide server using an actual IP address (ex: [WWW] http://192.168.1.4:8080/files) works pretty reliably. If I mount using the machine name ([WWW] http://ws015:8080/files) then PUT does not work at all.
