Log4j is fast and flexible framework for logging application debugging messages!

With log4j it is possible to enable logging at runtime without modifying the application binary. The log4j package is designed so that these statements can remain in shipped code without incurring a heavy performance cost. Logging behavior can be controlled by editing a configuration file, without touching the application binary.

The log4j-user mailing list is [MAILTO] log4j-user@jakarta.apache.org. You can subscribe from this [WWW] link, but please be sure to read [WWW] this first.

Bugs should be reported via [WWW] Apache Bugzilla [WWW] list of open log4j bugs

logging.apache.org

We are exploring the creation of a new top-level Apache project, dedicated to logging. The immediate goal would be to bring the various related log4X projects together under one ASF umbrella. Another goal would be to support cross-language/cross-platform logging. The brain storming is happening at /LoggingApacheOrg..
