Subversion is a revision control system created by TheTigrisCommunity. From the Subversion Project Page, "Subversion is meant to be a better CVS, so it will have most of CVS's features, with as many as possible in the 1.0 release."
ASF is currently in the process of evaluating Subversion.
/WhyUseSubversion? (or why not)
Coincidentally, the eventual migration to Subversion @ ASF reduces the need for account creation for committers, authentication and access control will then be accomplished via signed certificates. (but there are some reservations)
