I am interested in various techniques for prioritizing email. While SpamAssassin is great for determining what is spam, it does nothing particularly to assist with the prioritization of ham in it's current incarnation. I would like to work on changing that, so that you can read the most important email first. I am currently working on a project to bring SpamAssassin into the managed code environment of .NET, by porting SpamAssassin to C#. It remains to be seen if anyone else is interested, or whether my port will be good enough to bother releasing. The idea of having managed code do this is somewhat intriguing to me though.
I also have some interest in developing new algorithms for spam filters. Right now, for example, I'm working on a system for quickly detecting simple word salad and letter salad in English emails.
