See the attached WebappUberspector.java file. You should save it to velocity-tools/src/main/java/org/apache/velocity/tools/view and rebuild the velocity-tools jar with a velocity-1.6+ jar (you'll have to change the velocity version in you build.properties file, and maybe put it manually in the /lib/ directory if it is not available as automatic download).
