JAX-WS can be broadly divided into following major modules:

  1. Client APIs
  2. Service APIs
  3. Core APIs
  4. WSDL2Java and Java2WSDL
  5. Handler Framework

Other things to satisfy for JAX-RPC compliance are:

  1. Annotation Support - Will work only with JDK 1.5
  2. Data Binding Customizations
  3. SOAP Binding using the Handler Framework
