Justin - Apache brief

Tim Ellison - Apache Harmony

Tim Ellison is currently a Senior Technical Staff Member with IBM's Java Technology Centre in the UK. He has worldwide responsibility for Open Source Engineering in the Java SDK underpinning a broad selection of IBM's flagship products. Prior to his current position, Tim held leadership positions within IBM Canada, Object Technology International, The Continuum Company, and others. He is a Vice President of the Apache Software Foundation, and chair of the Apache Harmony Project Management Committee. Tim holds a BSc in Computer Science, and an MSc in Computer System Design from the University of Manchester. Tim has contributed to the commercial implementation of Smalltalk, IBM VisualAge Micro Edition, Eclipse, and the Java SDK over a period of over twenty years. He has a broad knowledge of high performance runtimes, open source methodologies, and is interested in new ways of applying object technology to difficult problems. Tim is married to Natalie, and they have four young children.

Zang Bin Yu

Currently, Binyu Zang is the Director in Parallel Processing Institute of Fudan University. His research interests are compilers, computer architecture and system software solutions, which include optimizing and parallelizing compilers, run-time optimization, live updating of software systems, system virtualization and trusted computing using virtualization, architecture for data intensive scalable computing. He has several publications in the international conferences on architecture, compilers and system software such as MICRO, ISCA, ICSE, ICPP, LCPC, CC, LCTES and VEE. He serves as the co-chair of the Program Committee of the 4th International Conference on Trusted Cloud Infrastructure Technologies. Also he serves as a program committee member for ACM SIGPLAN/SIGBED 2007, 2008 Conference on Languages, Compilers, and Tools for Embedded Systems (LCTES'07, LCTES’08).
