THIS IS STILL A SCRATCHPAD DOCUMENT!
Caveat: This document will describe installing modperl2 on *nix only. Windows and modperl1 users - sorry. We'll add you later...
Apache 2.0.47 or higher. As of this writing, the latest releases are 2.0.61 and 2.2.6 If you are using the Prefork MPM, you'll need Perl 5.6.1 or better.
If you are using a threaded Perl with the Prefork MPM, you must use ithreads. 5005threads won't work. If you are using a threaded MPM (worker, perchild), you'll need Perl 5.8.0 with ithreads.
Finally, installing Bundle::Apache2 from CPAN is a good idea.
modperl2 can be installed as a DSO or as a static compiled-in module. We'll use the DSO option.
