Until version 10.9, Derby provided a Plug-in for the Eclipse IDE. You can find more information about the Plug-in here. This plugin is no longer supported, and has not been tested with any Eclipse version after Juno.
Plug-in installation troubleshooting
Normally, installation should be as simple as ensuring that the Eclipse\plugins directory contains these three directories:
- org.apache.derby.ui_1.1.1, and
as obtained from extracting the zip files.
You should see the menu items after restarting. If you do not, then open the Eclipse workspace/.metadata/.log to look for any errors/exceptions that might be causing the problem. Also, you can look in Help>About Eclipse SDK>Configuration Details at the Plug-in registry section. Each registered plug-in will be listed there with a status message next to it like Activated, Resolved, Inactive, etc.
