Problems Using WebFolders
There is an excellent list of known issues with different versions of Microsoft's WebFolders at the "Web Folder Client (MSDAIPP.DLL) Versions and Issues List"
If you are experiencing problems with Slide and are using WebFolders as the client application please check this list before posting a question to the slide-user mailing list.
Windows 2000 SP4 and XP SP1
Note, there is a bug in the WebFolder implementation shipped with Win2k SP4 and WinXP SP1 that will prevent WebFolders from accessing Slide. The only known solution is to install a product that upgrades MSDAIPP.DLL (the dll that controls WebDAV access on Windows). See the "Web Folder Client (MSDAIPP.DLL) Versions and Issues List" for a list of which versions of MSDAIPP.DLL come with which Microsoft products.
MS Office and WebDAV
Open Office Documents as WebDAV-Resources (i.e. writable)
Create a DWORD value named OpenDocumentsReadWriteWhileBrowsing under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\Internet and set it to 1.

To avoid that Word-Documents are opened in the web browser window:
- Launch Windows Explorer.
- Select "Folder Options..." from the Tools menu.
- Select the "File Types" tab.
- Scroll down the list of "Registered file types" until you find "DOC - Microsoft Word Document" and select it.
- Click on the "Advanced..." button at the bottom of the dialog.
- Uncheck the "Browse in same window" checkbox.
This is equivalent to setting the key BrowserFlags under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Word.Document.8 to 8
This will work with other Office document types too.
Exception For PowerPoint this settings will cause that the ppt-document is opens as show and not for editing. To avoid this you should set BrowserFlags under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PowerPoint.Show.8 to a(hex).
