  • Cassandra Summit recap and 2024 planning
    • Constantia, Patrick, and Paulo discussed the Cassandra Summit and future plans. They considered scheduling a second special session for MWG in January to make a decision on a 2024 Summit. Patrick suggested using the Cassandra Summit as a prompt to increase participation. Paulo was also invited to share their thoughts on Bloomberg's potential contribution and the sustainability of community efforts. The discussion also touched on the need for a more efficient way to channel funding from other companies to community efforts.Constantia added that the Open Collective platform, approved by the ASF, could be a potential funding mechanism for such community efforts, ensuring transparency and independence from the ASF. 
  • Catalyst program update
    • First Catalysts announced at Summit. Paul is scheduling initial meeting/call with the group to discuss projects and ways to get involved and contribute.
  • Community Over Code Europe - Cassandra Track
    • Gentle reminder there will be a a Cassandra track at #CommunityOverCode EU in June 3-5, 2024, Bratislava, Slovakia.  CFP is currently *OPEN* and closes in 23 days on 12 Jan 2024. Submit your talk/poster proposal on https://sessionize.com/coceu-2024/
  • Call for Tracks: Community Over Code NA 2024 (Denver, Colorado Oct. 7-10, 2024)
    • Deadline: January 10th
    • Should we have a Cassandra track? (Paulo) Paulo initiated a discussion about submitting a Cassandra track for an upcoming Community Over Code event. Patrick spoke with Brian Proffitt (ASF VP Events) about colocated Cassandra Summit with CoC which is a good option. Paulo will draft the submission for a track while letting the ASF know we might do a colocated event instead. Paulo plans to reach out to others for a wider discussion.
