Speaker Travel Details Request

Speakers,

If you haven't already, please let us know your travel plans, and if you need us to book the hotel for you! You should email us on speaker-travel@eu.apachecon.com - that way, we'll be able to keep track of things, and make sure there's somewhere for you to stay during the conference (wink) If you live down the road from the venue, and you're just going to walk in each morning, please let us know that too, so that we're not worried about finding you a hotel room when you come to check-in!

Please also make sure to register for the conference - otherwise you won't get a badge, and no badge means no lunch! You can register by clicking on the "Register for ApacheCon" button on http://eu.apachecon.com/c/aceu2009/ - please use the registration code Speakers.

And finally, don't forget to upload your slides. There's no problem if you make changes later - you can always update what's on our webpage. To upload or update slides, please log in to the CFP system at http://www.apachecon.com/admin/login/ - click on your submission, and scroll down past the description, to the Slides field.

If there's anything else you need, please feel free to contact the planning team on planners-2009-eu@apachecon.com

Speaker Instructions

Hello,

some quick last minute comments about speaking at ApacheCon Europe 2009:

  • make sure you check in at the registration desk so that we know that
you are at the conference (smile)
  • please *always* use the microphone provided in the room (either
    clip-on or hand-held microphone)
  • your talk should be a maximum of 50 minutes *incl* Q&A
(there's a 10 minute break after each session)
  • if you are speaking on Wednesday in the Hadoop track, on Thursday
on the Tomcat track, or on Friday on the HTTP Server track, please
note that your session will be live video streamed.
So you *must* use the microphone, and please *always* repeat
questions being asked by the audience so that it will get
recorded. And please avoid walking around in the room, and stay
    on the stage/podium.
  • For every session we are planning to have someone from the conference
staff in the room to help you getting set up. That person will also
ask you for a PDF of your slides (either provide it before or after
the talk), and that person will introduce your talk, or we may have
    a separate session chair.

Thanks for being a speaker, and enjoy the conference.
