I tried to send a PDF showing some comparison statistics between running our Lucene application from disk vs. SSD, but of course you can't send enclosures to the list.
So I created this page to host the PDF; apologies if there is a better way to do that.
We ran a benchmark on a dual-quadcore, 16 GB machine with a 7200 rpm SATA II disk, and an OCZ SATA II 60GB SSD. The performance difference was fairly dramatic.
