Overview of Jetspeed 2's Portal Engine

The component architecture/SOA of the Jetspeed 2 Portal Engine is its true strength of Jetspeed 2's architecture. Jetspeed 2 Portal Engine supports the idea of a pluggable Engine and ComponentManager. The responsibility of the Engine is very minimal, it gathers any required environment information like properties files and servlet information and then feeds that information to the ComponentManager and intializes the ComponentManager.
