  • Ensure you have access to whatever call for presentations tool is in use for the event
  • Promote the call for presentation directly to your project/topic community, mailing list(s), project website(s), meetup groups, etc.
  • Personally reach out to people that you want to have speaking in your track and request content. Don't assume that they will just show up

For most Apache events, the track chair is delegated full responsibility for the content of their track. While you may (and probably should) use the official CFP process to solicit tracks, you should give thought to what story you want to tell in your track, and hand-pick the talks that tell this story. For example, you could

  • Lead the attendee through a journey from beginner to journeyman to expert
  • Show a user how to become a contributor
