KIE

KIE (Knowledge is Everything) is a community of solutions and supporting tooling for knowledge engineering and process automation, focusing on events, rules, and workflows. KIE has been incubating since 2023-01-13.

Three most important unfinished issues to address before graduating:

  • Finish code migration and IP clearance
  • Release
  • Grow the community

Are there any issues that the IPMC or ASF Board need to be aware of?

I do not believe so.

How has the community developed since the last report?

We added Martin Cimbalek, Rodrigo Antunes, and Neus Miras as new committers since our last report in September.

How has the project developed since the last report?

We are nearing our first release, and hope to have that at least started within the quarter. With a large project such as KIE, it can be difficult to get everything lined up. We have CI/CD in place, headers, licenses, and NOTICE files all ready to go.

How would you assess the podling's maturity?

  • Initial setup - Nothing new here, we've added a few new repositories over the past couple of months. This continues to go smoothly.
  • Working towards first release - Nearing this one! We're all very excited about this step.
  • Community building - No new update here
  • Nearing graduation - No new updates here
  • Other:

When were the last committers or PPMC members elected?

End of December

Have your mentors been helpful and responsive?

Brian has been very helpful. The others have also pitched in, no concerns.

Is the PPMC managing the podling's brand / trademarks?

We have not yet turned over the brand, per an agreement with the ASF and Red Hat.
