ApacheCon History
The first ApacheCon, in 1998, was run as a way for the Apache Group to get together for the first time. Since then, it has had a similar purpose - to provide a place for the entire Apache community to assemble and form tighter community bonds.
- 1998 - First ApacheCon, and first time the Apache Group assembled in one place.
- 2000 - ApacheCon Orlando. First official event of the newly formed Apache Software Foundation
- 2000 - ApacheCon London, with Douglas Adams keynoting
